Why Work Life Balance Doesn’t Exist

work life balance heading

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2018 Americans worked an average of 8.5 hours on the weekdays and 5.4 hours on the weekend!

Yes, we’re all working weekends and tossing the idea of work-life balance out the window. Though some companies are trying to do more to support employees with enterprise wellness initiatives, ergonomic furniture, and providing work-life balance tips for employees, I’m here to tell you that it’s all a myth.

What work-life balance articles don’t tell you

work life balance articlesI’ve worked with a lot of clients who say that one of their goals is to achieve work-life balance because they read an article in such and such publication.  Yes, they want more time with their family.  Yes, they want to work less crazy hours.  Yes, they want to have more control over their schedules.  However, in our coaching sessions, it quickly becomes apparent that these clients don’t really want work-life balance.

One thing that attracts many clients to me when they want to find a life coach is the fact that I’m a holistic coach who works with both personal and professional aspects of a clients’ life.  So when they come to me with eloquently written work-life balance articles, I do all I can not to shake my head.  What I’ve found in my own research and reading of such articles is that the advice provided is usually based upon unrealistic or ideal situations.  Clients I work with usually have real-life situations like:

  • terrible boss
  • troubled teen
  • workplace bullying
  • being a single parent
  • toxic work environment
  • lack of trust and respect between management and associates

The list goes on.  So though these clients want to be in the ideal work/life balance scenario at a job they love, that is usually not their situation.  This means that much of the advice in work-life balance articles simply doesn’t work!  What I have found to be effective is for a client to really evaluate the type of workplace and management that they have to deal with.  From there, we work on action steps that they can apply in their particular situation.

My final word on work-life balance articles is to take anything you read with a grain of salt.  Understand what can actually be applied in your situation.

Why the perceived benefits of work-life balance actually have to do with your personal life

balance in personal lifeIn those glowy wonderful articles, I just mentioned I often see very long lists around the benefits of work-life balance.  Those lists haunt my dreams!  Clients who want to find a life coach often contact me with these same lists and rattle off want they want me to do for them.

First, I explain the million-dollar question around “what is a life coach?” and the fact that a professional life coach does not “do” the work for the client.  If they want something, they have to do it themselves.  A professional life coach asks powerful questions in a strategic way so that the client comes up with the right solution for themselves.

Then I explain that the benefits of work-life balance they are describing require deeper exploration in many areas of their lives during coaching sessions.  Either way, I make it clear that change won’t happen overnight.  However, just for fun, I’ve decided to list a few benefits of work-life balance that I often hear from clients:

  • taking less sick time
  • increased productivity
  • better able to handle stress
  • more positive attitude at work
  • more collaborative spirit with team members
  • better able to handle negative situations that may arise

Honestly, all of those items sound like a sales pitch in a cheesy brochure but I digress.  Once clients hire a life coach like me they realize that the benefits they want will only come about when they take some action in other parts of their lives.

get clear on what you wantFor example, a client who seems to take a lot of sick time may have a lot going on at home.  This means they never have a chance to decompress from the stress at work.  They go from one stressful environment (home) to another (work) and they are mentally and emotionally drained.  The way they attempt to manage their situation is to limit their exposure to work stress by taking sick days and just staying in bed on those days.

As a professional life coach, the way I would approach this situation is by first understanding what they want. In this instance, let’s say the client wants to develop better work/life balance routines. Once they have identified that, then we would move forward by getting clear on how they plan on getting to their end goals.  Next would come their identification of small, measurable action steps.  One of the benefits that they would undoubtedly get from getting other parts of their lives in order would be taking less sick time from work.

This is a perfect example of how a client’s perspective on what they think needs to change isn’t really the thing that needs to change.  In this example a client came to me with a list of benefits of work-life balance and through our effective partnership, they got that factors in their personal life, which were having a negative impact on their professional life, needed to be addressed. Once they start addressing those factors in their personal life, things in their professional life got better.

My final thoughts on anyone who has a list of work-life balance benefits they wish to achieve is to find a life coach who you connect with and get to the root of your issues.  You will undoubtedly find that many of the things that are preventing you from moving forward at work may not be directly associated with work at all!

Achieving work-life balance is actually about awareness and overall balance

work life balance awareness“Achieving work-life balance” is a zen pipe dream I believe all of those articles I mentioned earlier promise readers.  When a client decides to hire a life coach, they quickly realize that same thing.  If all of the moving parts in a client’s life were in sync and their only issues were around the demands from their job, they’d probably find another job.

The ultimate goal when it comes to both work and life is for a person to do two things:

  • live from a point of greater awareness
  • want more balance and engagement overall

You see, work specifically, is likely not the root of your problem.  You first need to identify what you actually want to achieve.  In the example we went through earlier, the client wanted to work/life balance habits.  Once that was established and action steps where identified and taken, the client began to live from a point of greater awareness in their life.  The ripple effect of that greater awareness allowed them to have more balance and engagement in their life overall.

Do you see how this all fits together?  I hope so.  I just want to get you to the point of realization that the idea of achieving work-life balance has much more to do with you working on other areas of your life that will have an impact on how you spend your time at work.

Now when it comes to developing greater awareness and gaining more balance, there are quite a few things that you can do. Some of those activities include:

  • yoga
  • mindful meditation
  • walk in/be in nature
  • chakra therapy
  • journaling
  • hire a life coach:)
  • traditional counseling or therapy

Why work-life balance is important to employers

work life balance employersTo put it simply, employers want the most bang for their buck so to speak. Every employer’s goal is to get as much use and work out of employees as possible at the lowest possible cost.  No business thinks any differently.  That’s just capitalism.  To be fair, there are some employers who are far better than others at offering more harmonious, peaceful and collaborative environments for employees to work in.  This means the need for work-life balance is seemingly taken into consideration when an employer offers certain health & wellness or alternative work programs.

The bottom line is that employers want you healthy (mentally and physically) so you can do more work for them.  I hate to break it to you, but your company doesn’t really care if you’re happy or fulfilled.  That’s your responsibility to address in a productive way.  That’s why making the decision to hire a life coach is so important.  For any adult who wants to live their best life in this day and age, you need someone to help you with structure, boundaries, and change.

Disadvantages of work-life balance

disadvantages of work life balancePlease understand, work-life balance as a concept is not negative.  However what I’ve found to be true as a professional life coach is that clients put all of their attention on “fixing” the wrong things.  What I mean by that is that a client will focus on how to make changes about the time they spend at work and just stop there. They won’t take the plunge to reflect upon their lives as a whole and possibly see that their commitments outside of work may be a major factor in their tiredness, lack of engagement, etc. at work.

My conclusion is that one of the biggest disadvantages of work-life balance is the that you might think it’s the end all, be all reason that you’re stressed out.  Take the time to explore the reasons you have a lack of balance in your life overall.  Guess what?  It’s likely not one single thing!  It’s likely a bunch of things that require you to approach them with a greater sense of awareness.

Conclusion

Though the concept of work-life balance is appealing and everybody wants it, I’ve learned that it doesn’t actually exist.  Many times people are misled by reading work-life balance articles or seeing wonderful lists of benefits that this is what they could have if they do xyz.

That’s a fantasy.

The reality is that you and I live crazy busy multifaceted lives where we all wear a million hats.  As a professional life coach, I’ve seen more clients conceptually achieve work-life balance as a result of dealing with other areas of their lives.

So are you ready to take the next steps and accomplish your idea of work-life balance? Then look no further and book a session today!

What is Reiki Good For?

what is reiki good for

It can be hard to know what Reiki is good for unless you have gone through the Reiki process and experienced the effects of Reiki for yourself. The goal of this blog post is to let you know what Reiki is good for and why researching a coach with a background in Reiki is important when you go to hire a health coach.  The reason for this is because the positive effects of Reiki will easily flow through any session you have with that health coach and have long-lasting benefits.

What is Reiki good for?

Reiki is a therapeutic healing art of Japanese origin that seeks to bolster a patient healing process through the placement of hands to restore energetic flow. Reiki practitioners tap into universal energy and channel it to a patient’s body where healing is required making the body to initiate the ability to self-healing. A Reiki session is always desirable in a quiet setting where there are no disturbances. Depending on your practitioner’s directive, your sessions can frequent soft music to mask ambient noise, or you can work in absolute silence to receive the healing. Your Reiki sessions can take approximately 15 to 90 minutes, depending on your settings, which can be private or healthcare based.  A really cool aspect of Reiki is that is can also be applied in a distance healing way so when you are looking to hire a health coach, finding one who is a Reiki Master is a definite plus!  They will usually apply Reiki healing energy to your sessions prior to it starting.

What to Expect from Reiki?

what to expect from reiki 2

There are no clearly set Reiki sessions in term of length of time or protocol. This may have you asking yourself “Then what is reiki good for?”.  Anyone with Reiki knowledge, ranging from a healthcare provider, a professional practitioner, to a family member can administer a Reiki session.   That is when you’re looking to hire a health coach, finding one experienced in Reiki is useful.  Although a quiet place is preferable, the Reiki process can be done anywhere so long as the client is open to receiving the Reiki energy. For the best possible experience, finding a practitioner who you are comfortable with is critical. Professional Reiki practitioners provide space where they administer services to their patients.

A Reiki session involves giving a light, non-invasive touch to a patient lying on a treatment table fully clothed. The patient should never feel pressure as a result of intrusive or inappropriate hand placement. After a Reiki session, you should feel relaxed, refreshed, and think clearly.

Reiki Process

what is reiki good for 3A master passes Reiki to their students through Reiki attunement, which allows universal Reiki connection for the students making them Reiki vessels. You can also learn Reiki from books and master hand positions, but you can only practice Reiki by getting attuned to channel Reiki energy correctly. A Reiki master opens a powerful spiritual experience to their students, which allows your energy and that of others to flow freely impacting body health positively.

As mentioned earlier, a Reiki session can occur in-person or from a distance (i.e. over the phone, through a television screen, etc.) so if you can hire a health coach with whom you also have Reiki as either incorporate in the session or as an additional service, do it!

On receiving the attunement, Reiki students claim that their intuitive awareness and sensitivity increases. Before preparing for a Reiki attunement session, you have to go through a 3-day cleansing period where you should eat light foods, limit sugar, caffeine, alcohol, or tobacco. You should also work on releasing negative emotions such as jealousy and anger by reading and meditating.

Some great books on Reiki:

Positive Effects of Reiki

what is reiki good for 5Reiki has many benefits to clients, such as promoting harmony and balance through the body’s natural healing ability.   Reiki also helps the body to release tension and stress by creating deep relaxation. Clients can experience emotional cleansing and spiritual growth. Engaging in Reiki sessions boosts your immune system hence allowing the body to cleanse itself against toxins.

Clients leave a Reiki session with a clear and focused mind and can return to their healthy natural state. A Reiki session results in a sound sleep as you can learn this art and administer it to yourself. Using Reiki complements other therapies and medical treatments including but not limited to when working with a health coach.

Disadvantages of Reiki

what is reiki good for 4It is necessary to consult with health care providers before receiving Reiki treatments to assess the side effects. The adverse effects of Reiki include limited science support that can offer effective healing assurance.

Reiki is associated with inadequate insurance coverage. Practitioners of Reiki lack formal regulations governing their practice. Patients with similar ailment have chances of responding to Reiki variably. Therefore, there are no specific or accurate statistical results for Reiki.

Conclusion

After reading this blog post, you should have the answer to that burning question “what is Reiki good for?” as well as an understanding of:

  1. What to expect from Reiki
  2. Effects of reiki
  3. Reiki process
  4. Disadvantages of reiki

3 Keys To Effectively Managing Stress As A New Mom

Becoming a mother is one of the most stressful, albeit wonderful, things that will ever happen to you. A tiny little person will enter your world and turn it upside down.  Please realize that everything has changed – this takes acceptance, understanding, and patience (with yourself!). Preparing yourself for your new life and everything that is about to change is key to managing your stress as a new mom,  This is very important because stress can and will quickly mount when you step into your new role. Read on for a few of the key things that you might find useful to remember when that baby arrives!

1. Understand what the main changes are and how your priorities have changed

change in priorities - effectively managing stress as a new momEverything will change because of motherhood, and this might not even be something that you notice until your baby is suddenly two years old! The most important thing to remember is that you’ll have a lot of new memories and experiences to appreciate. Becoming a mother is the greatest gift, but this doesn’t make it any easier or any less of a challenge. Managing your stress as a new mom means that you realize that:

  1. your body will change,
  2. your intimate relationship will change, and
  3. your social life and time to spend on leisurely activities will begin to take a back seat.
Managing your stress as a new mom means that you realize that you'll no longer be the most important person in your life. Share on X

It’s safe to say that you’ll no longer be the most important person in your life, but remember to award yourself a very close second place. Your concerns will revolve around your new baby, however, don’t forget about yourself!  You need to love yourself in order to love those around you and allow yourself some time out in order to become the best mother that you can be.

Motherhood is unarguably the most important milestone to teach you about time management and to become more proactive in your days – and actually, becoming a parent can be one of the best ways to find your path and develop into the best version of yourself!

Struggling to understand what the main changes will be as a new mom?  Working with a professional life coach will help you clarify your priorities in this new role.  Book a session with me today and let’s get moving towards your best self today!

2. Be clear on how you are going to manage your new life

new life - effectively managing stress as a new momIn the beginning, you’ll need to allow yourself lots of time to adapt. Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed with visitors, and feel free to put a two-week ban on anybody but immediate family visiting you and the new baby. As amazing as it is to see everybody’s reaction to your newborn, visitors are exhausting when you’re a new mom – you already have to worry about cleaning, cooking, feeding, diaper changes, laundry, and sleeping…let alone making hot drinks for people and being conversational!! With that in mind, know that managing stress for a new mom means making the decision to limit too much visitation from guests.

Say yes every time that somebody offers to do something for you, the smallest helping hand can make a big difference to your day. Share on X

Managing stress as a new mom also means that you know when to ask and say yes to assistance.  Say yes every time that somebody offers to do something for you, the smallest helping hand can make a big difference to your day.

Take time out for yourself to indulge in some self-care activities. Whether that be postnatal yoga, scrapbooking, journaling or writing a blog, assign 30 minutes to 1 hour per day to yourself and don’t feel bad about it. Now is also the time to appreciate your partner and the help that they offer you–don’t forget that they are experiencing the same changes of becoming a parent that you are and that they’ll love to hear that you still appreciate and have time for them.

One piece of crucial advice for managing stress as a new mom is to remember to get rest. Sleep when your baby sleeps, or ask somebody to keep them for an hour while you take a nap. A lack of sleep is going to be detrimental to how you function in your new life and only make you feel trapped and emotional. So sleep as often as you can, the dishes can wait.

When you do have a little time to be productive, or when the baby is happy and comfortable in the baby carrier, it’s handy to have a to-do list ready. Write one the night before or during those night wakings with your newborn, and rank each job in its importance – that way, when you find 5 spare minutes, you’ll know exactly what you can do to help lighten your own load and make you feel a bit more accomplished.

Does the thought of managing your new life have you wanting you to pull your hair out?  Then book a session with me today to discuss effective life, stress, and time management strategies that fit your life!

3. Build a tribe around you for support

build a tribe - effectively managing stress as a new momYour tribe is the most important thing as a new mom. Build yourself a support network of family and friends that you know you can always rely on.  This means for emotional support and helps with the baby.  These are the people you can count on to bring you a hot meal or go for a coffee and a chat. The people that love you want to help!

Managing stress as a new mom can also come in the form of joining an antenatal group.  This is a great way to meet other new mothers who are going through the same experiences as you.  Talk to any other mothers that you know, even if they’re not new to motherhood anymore, I can guarantee that they will always be happy to share their own wisdom and knowledge. You’ll likely go into motherhood knowing absolutely nothing, and that can be a terrifying realization. But the best part is that you’ll learn and find your own way every day.  Trust the people around you to help, and never undervalue yourself.

Clueless about who your support system should be?  Working with a professional coach can help get clear on who your friends, acquaintances, and associates are in your life.  Book a session with me today so you can begin building your perfect tribe of support.

Conclusion

The three things that you need to do in order to effectively manage stress as a new mom include:

  1. Understand what the main changes are and how your priorities have changed
  2. Be clear on how you are going to manage your new life
  3. Build a tribe around you for support

Take some time to figure out what you works for you when it comes to managing your stress as a new mom.  Just remember that you are not alone and you have alot more support than you realize in this new chapter of your life!

How To Be Successful After A Break-up

how to be successful after a break-upBreak-ups are tough and often they really disrupt your life.  Whether you were planning ‘happily ever after’ with your former sweetie or not, getting used to that other person not being around can be hard.  I often work with clients who are at the crossroads of letting go and clinging to what once was.  This blog post focuses on some of the same steps I focus on during coaching sessions to help clients achieve success after a break-up.

1. Clear out your space

clear out the clutter -success after a break-upNo matter the type of relationship you had, the beginning of rebuilding yourself after a breakup begins with clearing out the clutter.  Physical reminders of the other person can be constant torture.  Give yourself 4 to 6 weeks to get through this phase.

No, I’m not asking you to clear out your house in a day.  But you should also not be dwelling on your ex 6 months from now.  4 to 6 weeks is enough time to slowly but consistently clear out anything left behind from your ex.

  • Clothes from your ex?  Donate them.
  • Shared furniture that was left behind? Donate it.
  • Old photos? Burn them! (just kidding…sort of)

On a side note, if you and your ex have things you want to return to one another, be civil about it.  Meet in daytime hours only.  If you two don’t trust or want to be alone during exchanges of stuff, ask a mutual, trustworthy friend to be there as well.  Success after a break-up means handling any required exchanges as quickly and civilly as possible!

Has it been four to six weeks and you’re still having trouble moving on?  Then working with a professional life coach will help.  Schedule a few sessions with me today so we can move you past your last relationship!

Here are some books that may also be useful in clearing out the clutter from your ex:

2. Step back & reflect

step back reflect - success after a break-upThis second step should be happening simultaneously with the first.  While you are donating those clothes that your ex left, you should also be taking time to reflect on the relationship.

Reflect, don’t dwell.

What reflection means is to take a non-judgemental look back at the relationship.  The ups, the downs, the things that totally went sideways, and the things that totally turned out to be awesome.  There were good times and bad.  Being a success after a break-up means you’ve taken all of those reflections to see what you’ve learned.  Keeping a journal at this time is also useful.

Reflection is a powerful tool that creates future insight Share on X

At the end of the day, you learned something from that relationship.  Get clear about what you’ve learned.  What did you learn about yourself?  What did you learn about the characteristics you want in your next partner?  What characteristics did you learn that you don’t want in your next partner?  Reflection is a powerful tool that creates future insight.  Getting clear will help guide you in your future relationships.

Reflections not working?  Do you find yourself dwelling on that past relationship?  Don’t fret!  Schedule a few coaching sessions with me, a professional life coach, to achieve a very positive outcome from a negative situation.

Here are some books about learning and reflecting after a breakup that some of my clients have found useful are:

3. Develop & implement a self-care routine

self-care routine - success after a break-upTaking care of yourself needs to be a priority.  If you haven’t been engaged in routines and rituals that boost, balance, and rejuvenate you, then now is the time to start.  Don’t let the term “self-care” scare you.  It doesn’t have to be complex.

For example one of my clients was struggling after a recent break-up and the subject of self-care came up.  When all was said and done, she decided that taking a long bubble bath on Friday nights would help her relax and ease into the weekend.  A weekly bubble bath is what she chose as her first activity in her self-care routine.  Now it’s your turn. List 3 to 5 things that you can do on a weekly basis to balance, relax, boost, or rejuvenate yourself.  Here are some ideas:

  • Yoga
  • Prayer
  • Exercise
  • Meditation
  • Journaling
  • Going to the spa
  • Taking long baths
  • Working on a hobby
  • Spending time in nature
  • Listening to soothing music at the end of the day
  • Drinking tea or coffee while watching the sunrise or sunset

Developing a useful self-care routine can be challenging.  Working with a professional life coach is useful in helping you to do just that!  Book sessions with me today in order to figure out how to develop the self-care routines that’ll work best for you.

If you still need some inspiration, here are some books I think would be useful:

4. Get back in the game

get back in the game - success after a break-upYou’ve cleared the clutter.  You’ve reflected on your last relationship.  You’ve created doable and fun self-care rituals for yourself.  What next?  Not it’s time for you to get back in the dating game!  You’re at a good space mentally and emotionally and it’s time to find a great partner.  The way you decide to get back into dating is up to you.  Online, mobile, in person, blind dates, hookups through friends, etc .

Don't spend time on dating anyone who drains your energy or emotions. Share on X

Whatever ways you choose should be the best for you.  Make sure at all times you are being mindful of your emotions and your energy when dating.  If anyone drains your energy or takes a toll on your emotions to deal with, delete their number, block them from your phone and move on!  You are too important to be spending your time, emotions, and energy on anyone who is not of equal awesomeness to you.

Struggling to get back into the dating game?  Then schedule a few sessions with me so we can create a plan for success for your upcoming adventures in dating!

Here are some books to boost your confidence in dating:

Conclusion

Success after a break-up largely depends upon the steps you take immediately after you part ways.  If nothing else, you know you should:

  1. Clear out your space
  2. Step back & reflect
  3. Develop & implement a self-care routine
  4. Get back into the game

How to Give Yourself Permission to Want More

permission to want more

What do you want?

Do you feel anxious and a little confused by this question?

We all want something. It could be big, it could be small, it could involve the whole world, or it could be something internal and private. No matter what it is, know that you’re not alone…because we all want something.

As a professional life coach, clients often come to me to help them define that something. This process of discovery is usually littered with internal blocks around desire vs. guilt vs. self-preception about what’s deserved.

Before my clients and I can define what they want, we must first work through these internal blocks. And that’s what this blog post is about.  Get clear around your goals, dreams, and ambitions by giving yourself permission to want more.

Step 1: Stop dismissing yourself

permission to want more - dismissing yourselfFamily, friends, and the world have told you to get a “stable job” and don’t go chasing “pipe dreams”.  If this sounds familiar, there’s a part of you that has bought into this logic and allowed a part of your dream to die.

Stop it now!

The process of discovery is usually littered with internal blocks around desire vs. guilt vs. self-preception about what's deserved. Share on X

Revive that dream, vision, or goal for your life!  The first step in giving yourself permission to want more is to stop dismissing your dreams, goals, and aspirations.  No one can decide what you should want in life except you.

Struggling with dismissing yourself?  Then working with a professional life coach can help you move past internal blocks.  Book a session today!

Step 2: Get clear about what you want

  • Do you secretly want to be the next big pop star?  Make a plan, get a voice coach, get on YouTube and start booking regular studio time.
  • Is writing a New York Times Bestseller on your bucket list?  Then sign up for writing courses, establish a daily writing routine of at least 30 minutes or 1,500 words a day, start entering write contests, and researching agents.
  • Want to marry a billionaire? Take etiquette courses, research the events that the rich and ultra-rich frequently attend, start networking, and find your perfect high-net-worth partner!
You can't move towards any destination without first understanding what you ultimately want. Share on X

permission to want more - get clearThese goals might seem crazy but who am I to judge?!  You can’t move towards any destination without first understanding what you ultimately want.  Once you know that, then you can start making a clear map on how to get there.

Your map is your overall plan.

The sooner you make a plan, the sooner you will start moving towards your goals.  And remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day.  Giving yourself permission to want more requires a little patience.  Chunk down your overall plan to actionable steps.  Set mini-goals on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.  Reaching those mini-goals will keep you motivated.  This is important for your ultimate success.

Do you lack clarity around what you really want?  Book a session today and we can start to define your dreams!

Step 3: Get to the root of internal blocks

permission to want more - roadblocksLet’s face it, roadblocks suck!  On the road and in life they slow you down or prevent you altogether from reaching some destination.

Internal blocks are simply roadblocks.  Now it’s time to see where they came from.

  • Did you grow up in a negative family?
  • Were you constantly around family or friends who couldn’t dream big themselves?
  • Did the internal blocks come from your own negative self-talk?
The only power internal blocks have over you is the power that you give them. So stop giving them power! Share on X

Whatever the case may be, take some time to get to the root of your internal blocks.  Identify them and confront them.  The only power internal blocks have over you is the power that you give them.  So stop giving them power!  Giving yourself permission to want more requires you to disarm these blocks.

A technique that works with coaching clients is to ask “so what?”.  Whenever they come up with negative stuff that can derail them from their goal, I ask that question.  Start doing this with your negative blocks.  The next time that negative self-talk starts, stop it in its tracks and ask yourself “so what?”  At first, this question may prompt a flood of negative emotions.  Let it happen.  Do some breathing exercises to calm back down, then ask the question again.  “So what?”

Repeat this exercise for every negative thought or emotion that comes up around your goals.  Eventually, you will ask the question “so what?” and the internal resistance will be minimal or none at all!  This will take some time.  Give yourself a week or two to work on each negative internal thought or emotion.

Need help facing your internal blocks & asking “so what?”  Then book your sessions today to start on a new path!

Step 4: Do it afraid

permission to want more - do it afraidYou’ve heard the quote that “there’s nothing to fear but fear itself”.  Guess what, it’s totally true!  Don’t expect the fear to go away (at first) as you give yourself permission to want more and start moving toward your goals.

Those goals, dreams, and desires may still feel silly or unreachable.  That’s natural.  But realize at the end of the day, success is a habit.  A habit is nothing more than consistent action applied in a certain area.

Success is a habit and a habit is nothing more than consistent action applied in a certain area. Share on X
